IMAGING DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240323519 titled 'IMAGING DEVICE

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an imaging device that can display or record different ranges of an image depending on whether self-photographing is being performed or not.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • The imaging device includes an image sensor and a controller.
  • The controller can display or record a narrower range of the image when self-photographing is not being performed.
  • When self-photographing is being performed, the controller can display or record a wider range of the image.

Potential Applications: This technology could be used in digital cameras, smartphones, or other devices with imaging capabilities that allow for self-photographing.

Problems Solved: This technology addresses the need to capture different ranges of an image depending on whether self-photographing is being performed or not.

Benefits:

  • Improved user experience when taking self-photographs.
  • More flexibility in capturing images with different ranges.
  • Enhanced control over the displayed or recorded image.

Commercial Applications: The technology could be valuable for companies producing digital cameras, smartphones, or other imaging devices, enhancing their product offerings and potentially attracting more customers.

Prior Art: Readers interested in prior art related to this technology could start by researching patents or publications in the field of imaging devices and self-photographing capabilities.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers in the field of imaging technology may be conducting studies on improving self-photographing capabilities in devices, which could be relevant to this technology.

Questions about Imaging Devices with Self-Photographing Capabilities: 1. What are the key advantages of using an imaging device with self-photographing capabilities? 2. How does the technology in this patent application improve the user experience when taking self-photographs?

Original Abstract Submitted

an imaging device includes an image sensor and a controller configured to perform control to display or record a range of at least a part of an image captured by the image sensor, wherein in a first state in which self-photographing is not performed, the controller performs control to display or record a first range of the image, and in a second state in which the self-photographing is performed, the controller performs control to display or record a second range wider than the first range of the image.
