HEMOSTASIS CLIP - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240307068 titled 'HEMOSTASIS CLIP
The patent application describes a device for treating tissue that includes a capsule with clip arms that can move between a tissue receiving configuration and a tissue clipping configuration.
- The device includes clip arms with proximal and distal parts that can be coupled and moved relative to the capsule.
- The arms can be separated in a tissue receiving configuration and moved towards each other in a tissue clipping configuration.
- Each arm can lock over target tissue to be clipped while the proximal parts are removed from the body.
Potential Applications: - Minimally invasive surgical procedures - Endoscopic tissue clipping - Biopsy procedures
Problems Solved: - Facilitates precise tissue clipping - Enables efficient tissue treatment in hard-to-reach areas
Benefits: - Improved accuracy in tissue clipping - Reduced risk of damage to surrounding tissue - Enhanced control during surgical procedures
Commercial Applications: Title: "Innovative Tissue Clipping Device for Minimally Invasive Surgery" This technology can be used in various medical settings such as hospitals, clinics, and surgical centers for a wide range of procedures, potentially increasing efficiency and patient outcomes.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does this device improve the precision of tissue clipping procedures? 2. What are the potential cost-saving benefits of using this device in surgical settings?
Original Abstract Submitted
a device for treating tissue includes a capsule defining a channel extending therethrough and clip arms. each of the arms includes a proximal part releasably coupled to a distal part, a proximal portion of the distal part configured to be received within the channel of the capsule so that the arms move proximally and distally relative to the capsule between a tissue receiving configuration, in which distal ends of the arms are separated from one another, and a tissue clipping configuration, in which distal ends of the arms are moved toward one another. the proximal portion of each of the arms is configured to release from the corresponding distal part to lock the distal part of each of the arms over a portion of target tissue to be clipped while the proximal parts of the arms are removed from the body.
