SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMICALLY SHARING MEDIA BASED ON CONTACT PROXIMITY, GROUP PARTICIPATION, OR EVENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240323275 titled 'SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DYNAMICALLY SHARING MEDIA BASED ON CONTACT PROXIMITY, GROUP PARTICIPATION, OR EVENT

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes systems and methods for dynamically sharing a media item based on satisfying a condition. This involves selecting a media item for sharing based on the selection of a contact, such as a photo with the contact included, and determining relevance using facial recognition. Additionally, a shared camera feature allows users in proximity to opt into a shared group where photos taken by one user are simultaneously displayed to all group members.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Dynamic sharing of media items based on conditions
  • Selection of media items involving contacts
  • Relevance determination using facial recognition
  • Shared camera feature for group photo sharing

Potential Applications: The technology could be used in social media platforms, messaging apps, and photo-sharing services to enhance user interactions and engagement.

Problems Solved: The technology addresses the challenge of efficiently sharing relevant media items with contacts and groups, as well as enhancing user experiences in photo-sharing activities.

Benefits:

  • Improved user engagement
  • Enhanced sharing experiences
  • Efficient sharing of relevant media items

Commercial Applications: The technology could be valuable for social media companies, messaging app developers, and photo-sharing platforms looking to enhance user interactions and engagement.

Prior Art: Prior art related to this technology may include patents or research on facial recognition technology, media sharing platforms, and group photo-sharing features.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers may be exploring advancements in facial recognition technology, user engagement strategies in social media, and innovations in photo-sharing platforms.

Questions about Media Item Sharing Technology: 1. How does the technology determine the relevance of a media item to a contact using facial recognition? 2. What are the potential privacy implications of the shared camera feature in a group setting?

Original Abstract Submitted

systems and methods for dynamically sharing a media item based on satisfying a condition are disclosed. the methods provide the media item for selection based on selection of a contact or vice versa. the media item may be photo, video, audio, or another type of item in which the contact is included, e.g., the contact is in the photo selected. the methods determine the media item is relevant to the contact based on a facial recognition match. the shared media item, which may be a photo, automatically replaces, for example, a wallpaper or lock screen of the contact. the methods also disclose a shared camera that allows users in a proximity of a first user to opt into a shared group. once they join/opt in, any photo taken or viewed by the first user is simultaneously displayed on the display of all members of the shared group.
