A communication apparatus operating as a base station in a TDD communication system, comprises: a communication unit configured to perform communication using a TDD pattern; a storage unit configured to store a plurality of TDD patterns; a determination unit configured to determine a TDD pattern to be used by the communication unit; and an obtaining unit configured to obtain a type of a network slice to be used by a terminal connected to the base station. The plurality of TDD patterns include a synchronous TDD pattern and a semi-synchronous TDD pattern. The determination unit determines the TDD pattern to be used by the communication unit based on the type obtained by the obtaining unit and the plurality of TDD patterns.
