Method for discontinuous transmission includes receiving a RRC message from the base station and performing uplink transmission for configured grants during a first transmission period based on presence of a first information in the RRC message. The RRC message includes one or more configured grant parameters. To perform uplink transmission for configured grants, HARQ process ID is determined based on HARQ_PID_Determination_mode_1 if a second information is absent in the configured grant configuration and based on HARQ_PID_Determination_mode_2 if a second information is present in the configured grant configuration.
