IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, IMAGE FORMING METHOD, AND CRIMPING TONER IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18610299 titled 'IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, IMAGE FORMING METHOD, AND CRIMPING TONER IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

The patent application describes an image forming system that includes a unique method of applying a crimping toner onto a recording medium to enhance the image formed by a color toner.

  • The system includes an image forming unit, an applying unit, a heating unit, and a pressurizing unit.
  • The applying unit applies a crimping toner with pressure-responsiveness onto the surface of the recording medium.
  • The heating unit then heats the crimping toner applied to the recording medium.
  • The pressurizing unit pressurizes a stacked body in which the recording medium is folded with the heated crimping toner interposed.

Potential Applications: - Printing industry for high-quality image formation. - Graphic design for creative applications. - Packaging industry for unique printing effects.

Problems Solved: - Enhances the quality and durability of printed images. - Allows for the creation of textured prints. - Improves the adhesion of toner to the recording medium.

Benefits: - Increased image quality and durability. - Enhanced creative possibilities for designers. - Improved adhesion and texture in printed materials.

Commercial Applications: "Advanced Image Forming System for High-Quality Printing and Creative Design Applications"

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the pressure-responsiveness of the crimping toner enhance the printed image? 2. What are the specific advantages of using a crimping toner in conjunction with a color toner in image formation?

Original Abstract Submitted

An image forming system includes an image forming unit that forms an image on a recording medium by using a color toner, an applying unit that applies a crimping toner having pressure-responsiveness onto at least a portion of a surface of the recording medium on which the image is formed, a heating unit that heats the crimping toner applied to the recording medium, and a pressurizing unit that pressurizes, in a thickness direction, a stacked body in which the recording medium is folded with the heated crimping toner interposed or a stacked body in which the recording medium and another medium are stacked with the heated crimping toner interposed, in which a volume average particle diameter of the crimping toner is more than a volume average particle diameter of the color toner.
