A setting method includes registering a plurality of devices, registering devices in the plurality of devices in association with groups, and changing settings of a plurality of notifications to be transmitted to a display of the information processing apparatus, the notifications based on information from a plurality of devices associated with a group, where the settings are changed in such a manner that for each of the devices in the group, the settings are changed all at once, without changing a setting of another notification to be transmitted to the display of the information processing apparatus, the other notification based on information from a device of the plurality of devices that is not in the group.
