Original Abstract Submitted

A driving assistance device comprising: a camera sensor that photographs a front of a vehicle; and a control unit configured to perform deceleration control to automatically decelerate the vehicle when a deceleration target is detected based on an image photographed by the camera sensor, the control unit being configured to, when the control unit detects a notifying target that previously informs presence of a deceleration target based on an image photographed by the camera sensor, set a target vehicle speed of the vehicle at a position of the deceleration target corresponding to the notifying target based on the notifying target, set a provisional deceleration pattern of the vehicle based on a vehicle speed at a time when the notifying target was detected and the target vehicle speed, and perform temporary deceleration control to automatically decelerate the vehicle according to the provisional deceleration pattern.
