Method for Operating a GNSS-Based Navigation Module during a Starting Phase - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18570894 titled 'Method for Operating a GNSS-Based Navigation Module during a Starting Phase

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method for operating a GNSS-based navigation module in a vehicle during the starting phase. This method involves requesting initial GNSS navigation data and correction data from external sources with higher data rates than regular sources, and using this data to determine initial output parameters.

  • The method requests initial GNSS navigation data from an external source with a higher data rate.
  • It also requests initial GNSS correction data from an external source with a higher data rate.
  • The method then uses this data to determine initial output parameters for navigation.

Key Features and Innovation

  • Utilizes external data sources with higher data rates for initial GNSS navigation and correction data.
  • Enhances the accuracy and efficiency of GNSS-based navigation during the starting phase of a vehicle.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in various vehicle navigation systems to improve accuracy and reliability during the starting phase.

Problems Solved

  • Addresses the challenge of obtaining accurate GNSS data quickly during the starting phase of a vehicle.
  • Improves the performance of GNSS-based navigation systems in vehicles.

Benefits

  • Enhanced accuracy and efficiency in vehicle navigation during the starting phase.
  • Improved reliability of GNSS-based navigation systems.

Commercial Applications

Title: Enhanced GNSS Navigation Module for Vehicle Starting Phase This technology can be used in automotive navigation systems to provide more reliable and accurate navigation data during the initial phase of vehicle operation. It can be valuable for automotive manufacturers and companies developing advanced navigation solutions.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for operating a GNSS-based navigation module in a vehicle during a starting phase of the vehicle is disclosed. The method includes a) requesting initial GNSS navigation data from an external data source which provides data at a data rate which is greater than a data provision rate of a regular data source of a GNSS system for GNSS navigation data, and receiving the initial GNSS navigation data from this external data source, b) requesting initial GNSS correction data from an external data source which provides data at a data rate which is greater than a data provision rate of a regular data source of a GNSS system for GNSS correction data, and receiving the initial GNSS correction data from this external data source, and c) determining at least one initial output parameter on the basis of the initial GNSS navigation data and the initial GNSS correction data.
