CONNECTOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18570573 titled 'CONNECTOR

The patent application aims to prevent the separation of housings stacked on top of each other by providing a connector with terminal fittings, wires, and a rear wall portion.

  • The connector includes housings stacked on each other, terminal fittings accommodated into the housings, wires fixed to the terminal fittings and drawn out rearward, and a rear wall portion.
  • The rear wall portion is molded as a single part and includes a through hole for the passage of wires.
  • First separation restricting portions and second separation restricting portions are formed on the rear wall portion to prevent the separation of wires in the stacking direction of the housings.

Potential Applications: - Electrical connectors in various electronic devices - Automotive wiring systems - Industrial machinery and equipment

Problems Solved: - Prevents separation of housings in a stacked state - Ensures secure connection of wires in the connector

Benefits: - Improved reliability of electrical connections - Simplified assembly process - Enhanced durability of the connector

Commercial Applications: Title: "Innovative Connector Technology for Secure Electrical Connections" This technology can be utilized in the manufacturing of electronic devices, automotive components, and industrial machinery, enhancing the reliability and durability of electrical connections in various applications.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the connector prevent the separation of stacked housings?

  - The connector includes separation restricting portions on the rear wall to prevent the separation of wires in the stacking direction.

2. What are the potential benefits of using this connector technology in automotive wiring systems?

  - The technology can improve the reliability and durability of electrical connections in vehicles, ensuring secure and long-lasting performance.

Original Abstract Submitted

Separation of housings in a stacked state can be suppressed. A connector () is provided with housings () to be stacked on each other, terminal fittings () to be accommodated into the respective housings (), wires () fixed to the terminal fittings () and drawn out rearward, and a rear wall portion (). The rear wall portion () includes a through hole () for allowing passage of the wires () and is molded as a single part. The rear wall portion () is formed with first separation restricting portions () and second separation restricting portions () for restricting separation of the wires () arranged in a stacking direction of the respective housings () from the other wires () in an opposite direction along the stacking direction.
