WATER ELECTROLYSIS DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18545620 titled 'WATER ELECTROLYSIS DEVICE
The abstract describes a water electrolysis device that generates hydrogen and oxygen through the electrolysis of water using multiple electrolysis cells.
- Water electrolysis device with a stack of electrolysis cells, water supply side passage, hydrogen side passage, gas-liquid separator, and hydrogen combustion member.
- The device separates oxygen and water using a gas-liquid separator in the water supply side passage.
- Hydrogen combustion member contains a hydrogen combustion catalyst for efficient hydrogen combustion.
- The second piping connects the water electrolysis stack and the gas-liquid separator for smooth operation.
Potential Applications: - Renewable energy production - Fuel cell technology - Industrial hydrogen production
Problems Solved: - Efficient hydrogen and oxygen generation - Gas-liquid separation for improved performance - Safe hydrogen combustion
Benefits: - Clean energy production - Reduced carbon emissions - Enhanced efficiency in hydrogen production
Commercial Applications: Title: "Innovative Water Electrolysis Device for Sustainable Energy Production" This technology can be used in industries such as energy production, transportation, and manufacturing for sustainable and clean energy solutions.
Questions about Water Electrolysis Devices: 1. How does the gas-liquid separator improve the performance of the water electrolysis device? The gas-liquid separator in the water supply side passage separates oxygen and water, ensuring efficient operation of the device.
2. What are the potential market implications of using this water electrolysis device in various industries? The market implications include increased adoption of clean energy solutions, reduced carbon footprint, and enhanced efficiency in hydrogen production.
Original Abstract Submitted
A water electrolysis device is configured to obtain hydrogen and oxygen by performing electrolysis of water with a plurality of water electrolysis cells. The water electrolysis device includes a water electrolysis stack that includes the water electrolysis cells, a water supply side passage including first piping through which water supplied to the water electrolysis stack flows, and second piping, a hydrogen side passage through which hydrogen generated in the water electrolysis stack flows, a gas-liquid separator that is provided in the water supply side passage and that is configured to perform gas-liquid separation of a fluid containing oxygen and water discharged from the water electrolysis stack, and a hydrogen combustion member that contains a hydrogen combustion catalyst and that is disposed on an inner side of the second piping. The second piping connects the water electrolysis stack and the gas-liquid separator.
