Simplified Explanation: This patent application describes a device for measuring temperature using an array sensor to determine the temperature of an object's surface being heated by a cooking appliance. The device can also identify the surface material of the object based on the temperature change rate.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Device measures temperature using an array sensor.
  • Controller determines temperature change rate and surface material of the object.
  • Cooking appliance is an induction heating-type cooktop with a working coil generating magnetic fields.

Potential Applications: This technology can be used in various cooking appliances to accurately measure and control the temperature of the object being heated. It can also be applied in industrial settings where precise temperature monitoring is required.

Problems Solved:

  • Accurate temperature measurement of objects being heated.
  • Identification of surface material based on temperature change rate.

Benefits:

  • Improved cooking efficiency.
  • Enhanced safety in cooking processes.
  • Precise temperature control for better cooking results.

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in commercial kitchens, restaurants, and food processing industries to optimize cooking processes and ensure consistent quality in food preparation.

Questions about Temperature Measurement: 1. How does the device determine the temperature change rate? 2. What are the advantages of using an array sensor for temperature measurement?

Frequently Updated Research: Ongoing research in the field of temperature measurement technology may lead to advancements in sensor accuracy and data processing algorithms, further enhancing the capabilities of devices like the one described in this patent application.

Original Abstract Submitted

A device for measuring temperature can include at least one array sensor configured to measure a temperature of at least a portion of a surface of an object to be heated by a cooking appliance; and a controller configured to determine a temperature change rate based on the temperature, and determine a surface material of the object based on the temperature change rate. Also, the cooking appliance can be an induction heating-type cooktop including a working coil that generates magnetic fields to heat the object.
