SEWING MACHINE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18522174 titled 'SEWING MACHINE
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a sewing machine with a unique feed mechanism that adjusts the tension of the upper thread based on the feed amounts of the feed belts.
- Sewing machine with a sewing needle holding an upper thread
- Upper thread tension adjustment mechanism
- Shuttle cooperating with the sewing needle to form a seam
- Feed mechanism with endless feed belts on two sides of the sewing position
- Belt drive part independently driving the feed belts
- Control part varying the tension of the upper thread based on feed amounts
Potential Applications
The technology described in this patent application could be applied in industrial sewing machines, garment manufacturing, and textile production.
Problems Solved
This innovation solves the problem of maintaining consistent tension in the upper thread while sewing different types of fabrics or materials.
Benefits
The benefits of this technology include improved stitch quality, reduced thread breakage, and increased efficiency in sewing operations.
Potential Commercial Applications
Potential commercial applications of this technology include sewing machine manufacturing companies, textile factories, and garment production facilities.
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art could be sewing machines with adjustable tension mechanisms, but the specific combination of features described in this patent application may be unique.

Are there any limitations to the feed mechanism when sewing thick or heavy fabrics?
The article does not address any potential limitations of the feed mechanism when sewing thick or heavy fabrics.
Original Abstract Submitted
A sewing machine includes: a sewing needle, holding an upper thread; an upper thread tension adjustment mechanism, adjusting a tension of the upper thread; a shuttle cooperating with the sewing needle to form a seam; a feed mechanism, in which endless feed belts feeding a sewing object disposed at a sewing position along a first direction are disposed on two sides with respect to the sewing position in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and in which a belt drive part independently driving the feed belts on two sides with respect to the sewing position in the second direction is provided; and a control part, controlling the mechanism, so that, from beginning to end of sewing, a tension of the upper thread varies in an amount according to a difference between feed amounts of the feed belts.
