A Wi-Fi system and an associated channel allocation method are provided. The Wi-Fi system includes an access point (AP) device and a station (STA) device. The AP device collects AP-side capability information, and the STA device collects STA-side capability information. The STA device transmits STA-side capability information to the AP device. The AP device analyzes the AP-side capability information and the STA-side capability information to select an optimized channel accordingly. Later, the AP device and the STA device perform frame exchange procedures on the optimized channel.
