VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18484477 titled 'VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a control system for preventing a drop in driving force in a vehicle with a momentary type shifting device. The system establishes a neutral range when the shift lever is maintained in the N position for a threshold time, and executes a neutral range maintaining action after the lapse of the threshold time.
- The shifting device includes positions for N range, D range, and B range.
- The controller establishes the neutral range when the shift lever is held in the N position for a set amount of time.
- The system then performs a neutral range maintaining action after the threshold time has passed.
Potential Applications
The technology described in the patent application could be applied in various vehicles with momentary type shifting devices, such as cars, trucks, and buses.
Problems Solved
1. Preventing a drop in driving force in a vehicle with a momentary type shifting device. 2. Ensuring smooth transitions between different driving ranges.
Benefits
1. Improved driving experience with smoother shifting. 2. Enhanced control over the vehicle's driving force. 3. Increased safety by preventing sudden drops in driving force.
Potential Commercial Applications
"Control System for Preventing Drop in Driving Force in Vehicles" could be utilized in the automotive industry for manufacturing vehicles with advanced shifting systems.
Possible Prior Art
There may be existing patents or technologies related to control systems for shifting devices in vehicles, but specific prior art related to the exact features described in this patent application is not known.
Unanswered Questions
How does the system differentiate between intentional and unintentional movements of the shift lever to the N position?
The patent application does not provide details on how the system distinguishes between intentional and unintentional movements of the shift lever to the N position.
What is the expected lifespan of the components involved in the control system?
The patent application does not mention the expected lifespan of the components used in the control system for preventing a drop in driving force in vehicles.
Original Abstract Submitted
A control system for preventing a drop in driving force in a vehicle having a momentary type shifting device. In the shifting device, the N position corresponding to the N range and the default position are located between the D position corresponding to the D range and B position corresponding to the B range. The controller is configured to establish the neutral range in a case that the shift lever which is moved to the N position is maintained thereto for the threshold, and the neutral range maintaining action is executed after the lapse of the threshold time.
