COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18431288 titled 'COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a communication control method in a cellular communication system where a relay node detects a failure in a backhaul link and transmits a notification to a child node when it is unable to reroute the uplink.
- Dual connectivity configuration for relay node with two parent nodes
- Detection of failure in backhaul link between relay node and parent nodes
- Notification transmission to child node when uplink rerouting is not possible
Potential Applications
This technology can be applied in various industries such as telecommunications, IoT, and smart cities where reliable communication networks are crucial for seamless operations.
Problems Solved
1. Ensures continuous communication in the event of a backhaul link failure 2. Improves network reliability and efficiency by notifying nodes of failures promptly
Benefits
1. Enhanced network resilience and fault tolerance 2. Reduced downtime and improved overall network performance 3. Efficient communication control in complex cellular systems
Potential Commercial Applications
Optimizing communication networks in smart cities Enhancing IoT device connectivity and reliability Improving data transmission in telecommunications networks
Possible Prior Art
Prior art may include patents related to communication network management, fault detection, and relay node configurations in cellular systems.
Unanswered Questions

The abstract does not provide information on the potential effects of this technology on network latency and data transmission speeds.
What are the scalability limitations of this communication control method?
The abstract does not address the scalability limitations of implementing this method in large-scale cellular communication systems.
Original Abstract Submitted
In a first aspect, a communication control method is used in a cellular communication system. The communication control method includes: detecting, by a relay node, an occurrence of a failure in a backhaul link between the relay node and one of parent nodes of a first parent node and a second parent node, the relay node being configured with dual connectivity for the first parent node and the second parent node; and transmitting, by the relay node, a notification relating to detection of the failure to a child node of the relay node, when the relay node is not capable of uplink rerouting.
