IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18424489 titled 'IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

The image forming apparatus described in the patent application includes an attachment portion, a storage portion, an agitation member, an actuator, and a control unit.

  • The attachment portion features an operation portion with an engagement portion that moves with the shutter, detecting its movement.
  • The operation portion can be in a first position with the shutter closed or a second position with the shutter opened.
  • The control unit activates the actuator to start driving the agitation member when the operation portion moves from the second position to the first position.

Potential Applications:

  • This technology can be applied in various image forming devices such as printers, scanners, and copiers.
  • It can enhance the efficiency and performance of image forming processes by automating agitation functions.

Problems Solved:

  • Ensures proper agitation of materials in the image forming apparatus.
  • Streamlines the operation of the device by automating agitation based on the movement of the shutter.

Benefits:

  • Improved image quality and consistency.
  • Reduced manual intervention in the image forming process.
  • Enhanced overall performance and reliability of the apparatus.

Commercial Applications:

  • This technology can be utilized in commercial printing facilities, office environments, and manufacturing industries where image forming equipment is used extensively.

Prior Art:

  • Prior art related to this technology may include patents or research papers on automation in image forming devices and mechanisms for controlling agitation in such devices.

Frequently Updated Research:

  • Stay updated on advancements in automation technologies in image forming devices.
  • Monitor research on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of agitation mechanisms in similar equipment.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the movement of the operation portion impact the agitation process in the image forming apparatus? 2. What are the potential cost-saving benefits of automating agitation in image forming devices?

Original Abstract Submitted

An image forming apparatus including an attachment portion, a storage portion, and an agitation member, an actuator, and a control unit, wherein the attachment portion includes an operation portion, including an engagement portion engaging with the shutter, configured to move with the shutter by the engagement portion being engaged with the shutter, the operation portion being movable between a first position where the shutter is at a closed position and a second position where the shutter is at an opened position, and a detection unit detecting a movement of the operation portion, and wherein the control unit controls the actuator so that driving of the agitation member is started based on the detection of a movement of the operation portion from the second position to the first position.
