DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD THEREOF FOR GUIDED BIOMETRIC INDEX MEASUREMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18403408 titled 'DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD THEREOF FOR GUIDED BIOMETRIC INDEX MEASUREMENT
The abstract describes a display apparatus that can identify a guide area on the display corresponding to a camera's position, display a guide image in that area, and identify a user's biometric index based on a measurement image captured by the camera.
- The display apparatus includes a display and at least one processor.
- The processor can identify a guide area on the display based on the camera's position.
- It controls the display to show a guide image in the identified guide area.
- The processor can also identify a user's biometric index based on a measurement image captured by the camera during the display of the guide image.
Potential Applications: - Biometric authentication systems - Interactive displays with personalized content - Security systems with facial recognition capabilities
Problems Solved: - Enhancing user authentication processes - Providing personalized user experiences - Improving security measures
Benefits: - Increased security through biometric identification - Personalized user interactions - Enhanced user experience with tailored content
Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Biometric Display Systems for Secure User Authentication" This technology can be used in industries such as: - Banking and finance for secure transactions - Retail for personalized customer experiences - Healthcare for patient identification and record access
Questions about the technology: 1. How does the display apparatus ensure accurate biometric identification? - The apparatus uses the measurement image captured by the camera to analyze facial features and determine the user's biometric index. 2. What are the potential privacy concerns associated with using biometric data for user authentication? - Privacy concerns may arise regarding the storage and security of biometric data, which must be addressed to ensure user trust and compliance with regulations.
Original Abstract Submitted
A display apparatus includes a display, and at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to identify a guide area, of a plurality of areas of the display, corresponding to a position of a camera; control the display to display a guide image in the guide area; and identify a biometric index of a user positioned at a front surface of the display, based on a measurement image, captured by the camera during display of the guide image in the guide area, of a face of the user.
