DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18388829 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The abstract of the patent application describes a display device with a functional layer that includes an optical layer or an impact-absorbing layer, a window, and an adhesive layer with specific thermal properties.
- The display device includes a display panel, a functional layer, a window, and an adhesive layer.
- The functional layer consists of an optical layer or an impact-absorbing layer.
- The adhesive layer has a high thermal decomposition starting temperature and peak temperature.
- The thermal decomposition peak temperature is the temperature at which weight loss or gas generation is maximized.
Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. - It can also be applied in automotive displays and industrial control panels.
Problems Solved: - Provides enhanced durability and protection for display panels. - Ensures better performance under high temperatures.
Benefits: - Improved reliability and longevity of display devices. - Enhanced safety and durability in various applications.
Commercial Applications: - This technology can be valuable for consumer electronics manufacturers looking to improve the quality of their products. - It can also benefit industries requiring displays that can withstand harsh environments.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does the thermal decomposition starting temperature of the adhesive layer impact the overall performance of the display device? 2. What are the specific advantages of having an impact-absorbing layer in the functional layer of the display device?
Original Abstract Submitted
A display device includes a display panel, a functional layer disposed on the display panel, where the functional layer includes at least one selected from an optical layer and an impact absorbing layer, a window disposed on the functional layer, and an adhesive layer disposed between the functional layer and the window. The adhesive layer has a thermal decomposition starting temperature of about 300° C. or higher and a thermal decomposition peak temperature of about 350° C. or higher, where the thermal decomposition peak temperature is defined as a temperature at which an amount of weight loss or gas generation caused by the thermal decomposition is maximized.
