WASHING MACHINE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18385739 titled 'WASHING MACHINE

The abstract describes a washing machine with a unique detergent supply device that can be drawn into and out of the machine through an opening in the control panel.

  • The detergent supply device consists of a body to hold detergent and a handle that is rotatably connected to the body, including a locking protrusion.
  • In the locked state, the detergent supply device is inside the washing machine, with the locking protrusion preventing forward movement by contacting a fixing protrusion on the control panel.
  • Rotating the handle moves the locking protrusion, releasing the device from the locked state to an open state where it can move freely through the opening.

Potential Applications: - This innovation could be applied to various types of washing machines to improve the convenience and efficiency of adding detergent. - It may also be useful in other household appliances that require the controlled supply of liquids or powders.

Problems Solved: - Simplifies the process of adding detergent to a washing machine. - Prevents accidental spills or leaks of detergent during the loading process.

Benefits: - Enhanced user experience with a more convenient detergent supply mechanism. - Reduced mess and waste associated with traditional detergent dispensing methods.

Commercial Applications: - Manufacturers of washing machines and other household appliances could incorporate this technology to differentiate their products in the market. - Potential for licensing agreements with companies looking to improve the usability of their products.

Prior Art: - Prior art related to this technology may include patents or publications on innovative detergent dispensing mechanisms in household appliances.

Frequently Updated Research: - Stay informed about advancements in detergent supply devices for washing machines and other appliances by following industry publications and attending relevant conferences.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the locking mechanism ensure the detergent supply device stays in place during the washing cycle? 2. Are there any safety features incorporated into the design to prevent misuse or accidents?

Original Abstract Submitted

A washing machine including a housing, a control panel having an opening and a fixing protrusion, and a detergent supply device configured to be drawn into and out of the opening. The detergent supply device including a body to accommodate a detergent therein, and a handle rotatably connected to the main body and including a locking protrusion. The detergent supply device and the handle are configured to have a locked state in which the detergent supply device is drawn into the washing machine, the locking protrusion is positioned closer to the body than the fixing protrusion, and forward movement of the detergent supply device is restricted by the locking protrusion contacting the fixing protrusion, and, the handle is rotatable to move the locking protrusion thereby releasing the detergent supply device from the locked state to an open state in which forward movement of the detergent supply device through the opening is not restricted.
