DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18377061 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE
The abstract describes a display device with a substrate containing first and second pixel areas, each with light-emitting areas and a non-light-emitting area. Light-emitting elements are placed in the light-emitting areas, with a bank layer in the non-light-emitting area and a color conversion layer with quantum dots filling the openings.
- Display device with unique pixel structure
- Light-emitting elements in specific areas on the substrate
- Bank layer and color conversion layer for enhanced display quality
- Quantum dots used in the color conversion layer
- Improved color accuracy and brightness in display technology
Potential Applications: - High-resolution displays - OLED screens - Electronic devices with advanced display capabilities
Problems Solved: - Enhanced color accuracy in display technology - Improved brightness and contrast in pixel areas
Benefits: - Crisp and vibrant display quality - Energy-efficient technology - Enhanced user experience with vivid colors
Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Display Technology for Enhanced Visual Experience This technology can be used in smartphones, tablets, TVs, and monitors to provide users with superior display quality, making it ideal for consumer electronics companies looking to differentiate their products in the market.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does the use of quantum dots improve color accuracy in display technology? 2. What are the potential drawbacks of this pixel structure in display devices?
Original Abstract Submitted
A display device includes: a substrate including a first pixel area and a second pixel area disposed adjacent to each other, each of the first pixel area and the second pixel area including a first light-emitting area, a second light-emitting area, a third light-emitting area, and a non-light-emitting area, a light-emitting element disposed in each of the first, second, and third light-emitting areas on the substrate, a bank layer disposed in the non-light-emitting area on the light-emitting element and defining first openings respectively overlapping the first light-emitting areas of the first and second pixel areas and a first central opening extending to the first openings, and a first color conversion layer including first quantum dots and filling the first openings and the first central opening.
