PERFORMING DOWNLINK CHANNEL MONITORING ON CELLS BASED ON DISCONTINUOUS RECEPTION STATES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18359290 titled 'PERFORMING DOWNLINK CHANNEL MONITORING ON CELLS BASED ON DISCONTINUOUS RECEPTION STATES

Simplified Explanation: The patent application relates to wireless communication, where a user equipment (UE) receives a configuration for cell scheduling from a network node. The UE then performs physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring on a first or second cell based on the configuration and the discontinuous reception (DRX) state of associated DRX groups.

  • UE receives cell scheduling configuration from a network node
  • UE performs PDCCH monitoring on first or second cell based on DRX state
  • Utilizes DRX groups associated with cells for monitoring

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Efficient cell scheduling configuration for UE
  • Dynamic PDCCH monitoring based on DRX states
  • Optimization of resources for wireless communication

Potential Applications:

  • 5G and future wireless communication networks
  • IoT devices requiring efficient data transmission
  • Mobile devices with varying network conditions

Problems Solved:

  • Resource optimization for wireless communication
  • Efficient monitoring of control channels
  • Adaptation to changing network conditions

Benefits:

  • Improved network efficiency
  • Enhanced user experience with better connectivity
  • Reduced power consumption for devices

Commercial Applications: Potential commercial applications include:

  • Telecommunication companies for network optimization
  • IoT device manufacturers for efficient data transmission
  • Mobile device companies for improved connectivity

Questions about Wireless Communication: 1. How does the patent application improve resource utilization in wireless communication? 2. What are the potential benefits of dynamic PDCCH monitoring based on DRX states in cellular networks?

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on the latest advancements in wireless communication technologies to enhance network efficiency and user experience.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, a configuration associated with cell scheduling. The UE may perform and based at least in part on the configuration and for a cell scheduling of a second cell, a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring on a first cell or on the second cell based at least in part on one or more of a discontinuous reception (DRX) state of a first DRX group associated with the first cell or a DRX state of a second DRX group associated with the second cell. Numerous other aspects are described.
