IMAGING GUIDE DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18294210 titled 'IMAGING GUIDE DEVICE

The abstract describes an imaging guide device that computes a plane projection transformation matrix of a first image and a second image obtained by capturing a flat surface of an object with different imaging devices. It then acquires a second figure by transforming a first figure based on the transformation matrix, generates a tilt index representing a tilt in the imaging direction, and displays it superimposed on the second image.

  • Computation means for calculating a plane projection transformation matrix of images captured by different imaging devices.
  • Acquisition means for transforming figures based on the transformation matrix to generate a second figure.
  • Generation means for creating a tilt index representing a tilt in the imaging direction and generating a display item with the tilt index.
  • Display control means for displaying the display item superimposed on the second image.

Potential Applications: - Medical imaging for accurate overlay of diagnostic information. - Augmented reality applications for precise alignment of virtual objects in the real world. - Industrial inspection processes for enhanced visualization of defects or anomalies.

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Imaging Guide Device for Enhanced Visualization in Medical, AR, and Industrial Applications This technology can be utilized in medical imaging systems, augmented reality applications, and industrial inspection processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visualization capabilities.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the imaging guide device ensure precise alignment of images captured by different devices? 2. What are the potential implications of using the tilt index in various imaging applications?

Original Abstract Submitted

An imaging guide device includes a computation means for computing a plane projection transformation matrix of a first image obtained by capturing a flat surface of an object with a first imaging device and a second image obtained by capturing the flat surface with a second imaging device; an acquisition means for acquiring a second figure obtained by transforming a first figure on the basis of the plane projection transformation matrix, the first figure being virtually drawn on the first image in a predetermined direction and a predetermined shape; a generation means for generating a tilt index representing a tilt in an imaging direction of the second imaging device with respect to the first imaging device on the basis of the second figure, and generating a display item including the tilt index; and a display control means for displaying the display item in a superimposed manner on the second image.
