CONTROL CHANNEL MONITORING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18261743 titled 'CONTROL CHANNEL MONITORING

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a method, system, and apparatus related to wireless communication technology. It involves a wireless device that can adapt its monitoring of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) based on received bitfields.

  • The wireless device is configured to receive bitfields for PDCCH monitoring adaptation.
  • The bitfields indicate whether the device should switch search space set groups or skip PDCCH monitoring.
  • The device can adapt its monitoring of PDCCH for different cells based on the received bitfield values.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Wireless device configured for PDCCH monitoring adaptation.
  • Bitfields control search space set group switching and skipping of PDCCH monitoring.
  • Adaptation of PDCCH monitoring for different cells based on bitfield values.

Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems, such as cellular networks, to improve the efficiency of PDCCH monitoring and enhance overall network performance.

Problems Solved: This technology addresses the need for efficient monitoring of PDCCH in wireless communication systems, optimizing resource utilization and enhancing network reliability.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method, system and apparatus are disclosed. In some embodiments, a wireless device configured to communicate with a network node is provided. The wireless device is configured to receive at least one bitfield for physical downlink control channel, PDCCH, monitoring adaptation where the at least one bitfield is configured to take at least one field value to indicate to the wireless device whether to perform one of search space set group switching and skipping of PDCCH monitoring, and configured to adapt the PDCCH monitoring for at least one cell based on the at least one field value of the at least one bitfield.
