RADAR DATA SIGNAL COMPRESSION TECHNIQUES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18153211 titled 'RADAR DATA SIGNAL COMPRESSION TECHNIQUES

The present disclosure introduces a radar front end chip with multiple encoders that encode digitized radar signals with phase codes to generate phase-coded digitized radar signals, which are then combined into a digital radar data stream for transmission to a central radar processor.

  • The radar front end chip includes multiple encoders to encode digitized radar signals with phase codes.
  • Each encoder generates phase-coded digitized radar signals.
  • A combiner combines the phase-coded digitized radar signals into a digital radar data stream.
  • The digital radar data stream is transmitted to a central radar processor.

Original Abstract Submitted

The present disclosure provides a radar front end chip that includes a plurality of encoders, each encoder of the plurality of encoders to receive a digitized radar signal and to encode the digitized radar signal with a phase code to generate one of a plurality of phase-coded digitized radar signals. The radar front end chip also includes a combiner to combine the plurality of phase-coded digitized radar signals into a digital radar data stream for transmission to a central radar processor.
