Managing Audio Assets - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18144982 titled 'Managing Audio Assets

The patent application describes a method for managing audio assets by selecting a content item for display at multiple geographic locations, including selecting variants for each location with shared components.

  • The method involves determining a set of audio components for each variant, with each variant containing two or more audio components from the set.
  • It also includes checking if any variant exceeds a duration limit, and if so, identifying the audio component likely causing the issue.
  • In response to a variant exceeding the duration limit, the method generates an indication of the issue and the problematic audio component.

Potential Applications: - This technology could be used in retail environments to manage audio content across multiple stores with location-specific variations. - It could also be applied in public spaces such as airports or malls to control audio messages tailored to different areas.

Problems Solved: - Efficient management of audio assets across multiple geographic locations. - Ensuring compliance with duration limits for audio content.

Benefits: - Customized audio content for different locations. - Improved control and monitoring of audio assets. - Enhanced user experience through tailored audio messages.

Commercial Applications: "Location-Based Audio Asset Management System for Retail Chains"

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this method improve the efficiency of managing audio assets across multiple locations? - This method streamlines the process by allowing for location-specific variants of audio content with shared components, reducing the need for individualized content creation for each location.

2. What are the key benefits of using this technology in retail environments? - The technology enables retail chains to deliver customized audio messages to different stores, enhancing the overall customer experience and brand consistency.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for managing audio assets includes selecting a content item for display at multiple geographic locations, including selecting a plurality of variants corresponding to the respective geographic locations. The variants include a shared component of the content item. The method also includes determining a set of audio components, where each of the variants includes two or more audio components of the set of audio components, and determining whether any of the variants exceeds a duration limit. The method also includes, in response to determining that a particular one of the variants exceeds the duration limit, generating (i) an indication that the particular one of the variants exceeds the duration limit, and (ii) an indication of an audio component that likely causes the particular one of the variants to exceed the duration limit.
