USER EQUIPMENT AND METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18116851 titled 'USER EQUIPMENT AND METHOD

The abstract describes a user equipment (UE) with physical layer control circuitry that determines whether to change the number of transmissions of a multiple PRACH transmission before retransmission, and sends a notification to suspend the power ramping counter if the number of transmissions is changed. Higher layer control circuitry then determines whether to increment the ramping counter based on the notification being sent or not.

  • The UE has physical layer control circuitry that decides on the number of transmissions for a multiple PRACH transmission before retransmission.
  • A notification is sent to suspend the power ramping counter if the number of transmissions is changed.
  • Higher layer control circuitry determines whether to increment the ramping counter based on the notification being sent or not.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in wireless communication systems to optimize transmission efficiency. - It can be used in cellular networks to improve the reliability of PRACH transmissions.

Problems Solved: - Enhances the control over the number of transmissions in PRACH transmissions. - Improves the overall performance and reliability of wireless communication systems.

Benefits: - Increased efficiency in transmission processes. - Enhanced reliability in wireless communication systems. - Better control over power ramping counters.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Transmission Control Technology for Wireless Communication Systems This technology can be utilized by telecommunications companies to improve the performance of their networks, leading to better service quality for customers. It can also be integrated into IoT devices to ensure reliable and efficient data transmission.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does this technology impact the overall efficiency of wireless communication systems? 2. What are the potential implications of using this technology in cellular networks?

Original Abstract Submitted

A user equipment (UE) is described. The UE comprises physical layer control circuitry configured to, prior to a multiple PRACH retransmission, determine whether to change a number of transmissions of the multiple PRACH transmission, and send higher layers a notification to suspend the power ramping counter in case the number of transmissions is determined to be changed and higher layer control circuitry configured to determine whether to increment the ramping counter based on whether the notification is sent or not.
