DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18054939 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a display device that includes a display panel and an input sensing panel. The input sensing panel has first and second sensing electrodes and electrostatic induction patterns. The sensing electrodes are connected to the electrostatic induction patterns, which overlap with each other.
- The input sensing panel has two areas: a first area with small deviations in mutual capacitances between the sensing electrodes, and a second area with large deviations.
- The electrostatic induction patterns in the first area are different from the ones in the second area. They either have a different area or a different number.
- This design allows for accurate sensing of touch or input on the display panel.
Potential Applications
- Touchscreen devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
- Interactive displays in public spaces like museums, retail stores, and airports.
- Gaming consoles and virtual reality devices.
Problems Solved
- Accurate sensing of touch or input on a display panel.
- Minimizing deviations in mutual capacitances between sensing electrodes.
- Improving the performance and responsiveness of touchscreens.
Benefits
- Enhanced accuracy and precision in touch or input recognition.
- Improved user experience with more responsive touchscreens.
- Increased reliability and durability of the display device.
Original Abstract Submitted
A display device includes a display panel and an input sensing panel. The input sensing panel includes pluralities of first and second sensing electrodes and electrostatic induction patterns, each of which is connected to a sensing electrode from one of the pluralities of sensing electrodes and overlaps another sensing electrode from the other one of the pluralities of sensing electrodes. The input sensing panel includes a first area where deviations of mutual capacitances between the first and second sensing electrodes are small and a second area where the deviations are large. The electrostatic induction patterns include first electrostatic induction patterns disposed in the first area and second electrostatic induction patterns disposed in the second area, the second electrostatic induction patterns having a different area from the first electrostatic induction patterns, or the number of second electrostatic induction patterns being different from the number of first electrostatic induction patterns.
