REFRIGERATOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18039157 titled 'REFRIGERATOR
Simplified Explanation
The present invention is a refrigerator with a unique design that includes the following components:
- Cabinet: Forms the storage space of the refrigerator.
- Door: Allows for opening and closing of the storage space.
- Grill fan: Located at the rear surface of the storage space and releases cold air through an outlet.
- Icemaker: Positioned in front of the outlet to produce ice.
- Top cover: Placed between the icemaker and the upper surface of the storage space.
- Cover flow channel: Found on the top cover, it is open in the back-and-forth direction above the icemaker and directs a portion of the cold air discharged through the outlet towards the front of the icemaker.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Household refrigerators: The invention can be used in standard refrigerators found in homes.
- Commercial refrigerators: The design can be implemented in refrigerators used in commercial settings such as restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Efficient cooling: The cover flow channel ensures that cold air is directed towards the icemaker, improving its efficiency in producing ice.
- Ice quality: By guiding cold air to the front of the icemaker, the invention helps maintain a consistently low temperature, resulting in better ice quality.
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved ice production: The directed flow of cold air enhances the icemaker's performance, resulting in faster and more efficient ice production.
- Consistent cooling: The design helps maintain a stable and low temperature in the icemaker area, ensuring the preservation of food and beverages.
- Space optimization: The top cover design allows for efficient use of space within the refrigerator, maximizing storage capacity.
Original Abstract Submitted
An embodiment of the present invention relates to a refrigerator comprising: a cabinet forming a storage space; a door for opening/closing the storage space; a grill fan forming the rear surface of the storage space and having an outlet through which cold air is discharged; an icemaker disposed in front of the outlet to make ice; and a top cover disposed between the icemaker and the upper surface of the storage space, wherein the top cover has a cover flow channel which is open in the back-and-forth direction above the icemaker and guides a part of cold air discharged through the outlet to the front of the icemaker.
