ROBOT APPARATUS AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17938507 titled 'ROBOT APPARATUS AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a robot apparatus with a rotatable neck structure and a display that can be positioned in different directions. It also includes a stopper structure that can be moved to support or separate from the neck structure.
- The robot apparatus includes a main body, a display, and a rotatable neck structure.
- A first driving device allows the neck structure to rotate, positioning the display in either an upward-facing or forward-facing direction.
- A stopper structure is provided on the main body, adjacent to the neck structure.
- A second driving device moves the stopper structure towards the front or rear direction.
- The stopper structure can be positioned to support the neck structure or be separated from it.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Humanoid robots with adjustable displays for communication or interaction purposes.
- Robotic assistants with versatile display positioning for information sharing or entertainment.
- Educational robots with interactive displays that can be adjusted for optimal viewing angles.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Provides flexibility in display positioning, allowing for better user interaction and communication.
- Enables the robot to adapt to different scenarios or tasks by adjusting the display direction.
- Prevents damage to the neck structure by providing a stopper structure for support.
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved user experience through adjustable display positioning.
- Increased versatility and adaptability of the robot apparatus.
- Enhanced durability and protection of the neck structure.
Original Abstract Submitted
A robot apparatus is disclosed. The robot apparatus includes a main body; a display; a neck structure rotatably connected to the main body; a first driving device configured to rotate the neck structure such that the display is positioned in a first location, in which a display surface of the display faces toward an upper direction, or a second location, in which the display surface faces toward a front direction; a stopper structure provided on the main body to be adjacent to the neck structure; and a second driving device configured to move the stopper structure toward the front direction or a rear direction such that the stopper structure is positioned in a supporting location in which the stopper structure contacts a rear surface of the neck structure, or a separated location, in which the stopper structure is spaced apart from the neck structure.
