AIR AMPLIFIER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18278630 titled 'AIR AMPLIFIER

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an air amplifier that directs airflow from a fan assembly, with a lip at the front edge of the airflow cavity to partially inhibit airflow from the exhaust outlet.

  • The air amplifier is designed to receive airflow from a fan assembly and direct it towards an exhaust outlet.
  • It includes an airflow cavity with a first wall, a second wall, and a lip at the front edge of the first wall.
  • The lip partially inhibits airflow from the exhaust outlet, improving the efficiency of the airflow direction.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Air amplifier for directing airflow from a fan assembly.
  • Lip at the front edge of the airflow cavity to partially inhibit airflow from the exhaust outlet.
  • Improved efficiency in directing airflow towards the desired direction.

Potential Applications:

  • HVAC systems
  • Cooling systems
  • Ventilation systems

Problems Solved:

  • Efficient direction of airflow
  • Improved airflow control
  • Enhanced performance of fan assemblies

Benefits:

  • Increased efficiency in airflow direction
  • Improved cooling and ventilation
  • Enhanced performance of fan assemblies

Commercial Applications: Commercial Applications: Air amplifiers can be used in various industries such as HVAC, automotive, and electronics for improved airflow control and ventilation systems.

Questions about Air Amplifiers: 1. How does the lip in the air amplifier contribute to directing airflow? The lip at the front edge of the airflow cavity partially inhibits airflow from the exhaust outlet, improving the efficiency of airflow direction.

2. What are the potential benefits of using an air amplifier in HVAC systems? Air amplifiers can enhance the efficiency of airflow direction, improve cooling and ventilation, and enhance the overall performance of HVAC systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

An air amplifier for directing airflow from a fan assembly, and a fan assembly including an air amplifier. The air amplifier includes an inlet for receiving airflow from a fan assembly, and an airflow cavity. The airflow cavity includes a first wall and a second wall that define an airflow passageway extending towards an exhaust outlet for emitting air. A lip is provided at or towards a front edge of the first wall. The lip extends towards the second wall, thereby partially inhibiting airflow from the exhaust outlet.
