CLEANER HEAD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18278645 titled 'CLEANER HEAD

The abstract describes a cleaner head for a vacuum cleaner that applies suction to a horizontal surface. The cleaner head includes two agitator elements mounted for rotation about respective axes, each tapering towards one end and cantilevered from a hub portion of the cleaner head.

  • The cleaner head includes first and second agitator elements mounted for rotation.
  • Each agitator element tapers towards one end in the direction of rotation.
  • The agitator elements are cantilevered from opposing sides of the hub portion.
  • The axes of rotation at the ends of the agitator elements are positioned differently.

Potential Applications: - Household vacuum cleaners - Industrial cleaning equipment

Problems Solved: - Improved cleaning efficiency on horizontal surfaces - Enhanced dirt and debris removal

Benefits: - Better cleaning performance - Reduced maintenance needs - Longer lifespan of the vacuum cleaner

Commercial Applications: Title: "Innovative Cleaner Head for Enhanced Cleaning Performance" This technology can be used in various commercial cleaning equipment, leading to more effective and efficient cleaning processes in both residential and industrial settings.

Prior Art: Further research can be conducted in the field of vacuum cleaner technology, specifically focusing on cleaner head designs and their impact on cleaning performance.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in vacuum cleaner technology, particularly in the area of cleaner head design and its influence on cleaning effectiveness.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the design of the agitator elements improve cleaning performance? 2. What are the potential cost implications of implementing this technology in vacuum cleaners?

Original Abstract Submitted

A cleaner head for a vacuum cleaner, the cleaner head being configured to apply suction to a horizontal surface to be cleaned by the vacuum cleaner, wherein the cleaner head includes: first and second agitator elements each being mounted for rotation about a respective axis. Each agitator element includes a first, free end and a second end, each agitator element has a shape which tapers towards the first end in a direction along the axis of rotation, the first and second agitator elements are cantilevered from opposing sides of a hub portion of the cleaner head at their respective second ends, and each agitator element is arranged such that the position of the axis at the first end of each agitator element is further forwards than the position of the axis at the second end of each agitator element.
