PROTECTOR APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18557211 titled 'PROTECTOR APPARATUS

The protector apparatus described in the patent application is used in a power supply system to supply power to loads by switching between different power supply units using a relay.

  • The power path consists of a first conductive path connected to the first power supply unit and a second conductive path connected to the second power supply unit.
  • A relay switches between a permitted state and a cutoff state for the first and second conductive paths.
  • The first conductive path is protected by a protector in a specific region, insulating it from the periphery of the protector.
  • The second conductive path is connected to the load to be protected among the loads.

Potential Applications: - Power supply systems for various electronic devices - Industrial power distribution systems - Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems

Problems Solved: - Ensures reliable power supply to loads - Protects the load from power supply disruptions

Benefits: - Enhanced reliability in power supply systems - Improved protection for critical loads - Efficient switching between power supply units

Commercial Applications: Title: "Advanced Protector Apparatus for Power Supply Systems" This technology can be used in various industries such as telecommunications, data centers, and manufacturing plants to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical equipment.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the protector apparatus improve the reliability of power supply systems? - The protector apparatus ensures seamless switching between power supply units, reducing the risk of power disruptions to critical loads. 2. What are the key features of the relay in the protector apparatus? - The relay in the protector apparatus controls the switching between the first and second conductive paths, ensuring a smooth transition in power supply.

Original Abstract Submitted

A protector apparatus is used in a power supply system for supplying power to loads and includes a power path and a relay. The power path includes a first conductive path, which is connected to a first power supply unit, and a second conductive path, which is connected to a second power supply unit. A relay switches the first conductive path and the second conductive path between a permitted state and a cutoff state. The first conductive path is provided with first connecting portions in a protected region from the relay toward the first power supply unit. The first connecting portions of the first conductive path are entirely covered by a protector, and in the protected region, the protector insulates the first conductive path from the periphery of the protector. The second conductive path is connected to the load, which is a load to be protected, out of the loads.
