DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18609286 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE

The patent application describes a display device that is mounted on the head of an observer, including a frame with a front portion, temple portions, and a pad portion, as well as an image display device attached to the frame.

  • The image display device consists of an image forming device and an optical device that emits light towards the observer.
  • The optical device is fixed at one end to a temple portion side of the front portion, with the other end on the pad portion side.
  • A light shielding member is attached to the pad portion side of the front portion to prevent external light from affecting the optical device.

Potential Applications: - Augmented reality glasses - Virtual reality headsets - Heads-up displays for pilots or drivers

Problems Solved: - Minimizing external light interference - Providing a clear and focused display for the observer

Benefits: - Enhanced viewing experience - Improved visibility in various lighting conditions

Commercial Applications: - Consumer electronics industry for AR/VR devices - Aviation and automotive industries for heads-up displays

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the light shielding member enhance the display quality?

The light shielding member prevents external light from interfering with the optical device, ensuring a clear and focused display for the observer.

2. What are the potential market implications of this technology in the consumer electronics industry?

This technology could lead to the development of more advanced AR/VR devices with improved display quality and user experience.
