CONDUCTIVE PASTE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18609022 titled 'CONDUCTIVE PASTE

The abstract describes a patent application for a conductive paste used in inner electrodes of a multilayer ceramic capacitor, containing a conductive metal powder, ceramic powder, organic solvent, and organic binder. The conductive metal powder includes copper, and the ceramic powder includes at least one oxide of an ABO type with specific ionic radius ratios.

  • The conductive paste for inner electrodes of a multilayer ceramic capacitor includes copper in the metal powder.
  • The ceramic powder in the paste contains at least one oxide of an ABO type with specific ionic radius ratios.
  • The paste is fired to create the inner electrodes of the capacitor.
  • The organic solvent and binder help in the formation and adhesion of the paste.
  • The specific ionic radius ratios ensure proper functionality and performance of the capacitor.

Potential Applications: - Manufacturing of multilayer ceramic capacitors - Electronics industry for various electronic devices

Problems Solved: - Improved conductivity and performance of multilayer ceramic capacitors - Enhanced reliability and stability of electronic devices

Benefits: - Higher efficiency and reliability of electronic devices - Cost-effective production of multilayer ceramic capacitors

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Conductive Paste for Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors This technology can be used in the production of various electronic devices such as smartphones, laptops, and automotive electronics, enhancing their performance and reliability in a cost-effective manner.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the specific ionic radius ratio in the ceramic powder contribute to the performance of the capacitor? 2. What are the potential cost savings associated with using this conductive paste in the manufacturing process of electronic devices?

Original Abstract Submitted

A conductive paste included in inner electrodes of a multilayer ceramic capacitor is fired and includes a conductive metal powder, a ceramic powder, an organic solvent, and an organic binder. The conductive metal powder includes copper, and at least a portion of the ceramic powder is a powder of at least one oxide of an ABOtype with a specified ionic radius in which a ratio of a six-coordinate ionic radius of an A-site element in ABOto a six-coordinate ionic radius of copper is about 0.96 or greater and about 1.04 or less.
