DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18608900 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

The abstract of the patent application describes a display device with specific pixel connections and scan drivers that operate in different frame periods.

  • The display device includes pixels connected to data lines and scan lines.
  • Scan drivers are connected to scan start lines and scan lines.
  • In the first frame period, the second scan start line receives a signal after a specific delay from the first scan start signal.
  • The difference in timing between the first and second scan start signals corresponds to a shorter second period.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in various types of display devices, such as LCD screens or OLED panels. - It can improve the efficiency and performance of display devices by optimizing the timing of scan signals.

Problems Solved: - The technology addresses issues related to scan line activation and pixel refresh rates in display devices. - It helps in reducing motion blur and improving overall image quality on screens.

Benefits: - Enhanced display quality with reduced motion blur. - Improved efficiency and performance of display devices. - Optimal timing of scan signals for better image rendering.

Commercial Applications: - This technology can be applied in consumer electronics like smartphones, tablets, and televisions. - It can also be used in medical imaging devices, automotive displays, and industrial monitors.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device includes: a first pixel connected to a first data line and a first scan line; a second pixel connected to the first data line and a second scan line; a first scan driver connected to a first scan start line and the first scan line; and a second scan driver connected to a second scan start line and the second scan line. In a first frame period, the second scan start line is to be suppled with a second scan start signal having a turn-on level, after a first period elapses after a first scan start signal having a turn-on level is supplied to the first scan start line. In a second frame period, a difference between a time at which the first scan start signal having the turn-on level is supplied and a time at which the second scan start signal having the turn-on level is supplied corresponds to a second period. The second period is shorter than the first period.
