ORGANIC LIGHT EMITTING DISPLAY PANEL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240224687 titled 'ORGANIC LIGHT EMITTING DISPLAY PANEL

The patent application describes an organic light emitting display panel with unit pixels containing blue, green, and red subpixels arranged radially to prevent lateral current leakage.

  • Blue, green, and red subpixels are arranged in each unit pixel.
  • Red subpixel is placed at the innermost side, blue subpixel at the outermost side, and green subpixel in between.
  • Radial arrangement prevents lateral current leakage within the display panel.
  • This design enhances the overall performance and efficiency of the display panel.
  • The innovation aims to improve the quality and longevity of organic light emitting displays.

Potential Applications:

  • Consumer electronics such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions.
  • Automotive displays for infotainment systems and instrument clusters.
  • Medical devices for high-resolution imaging and diagnostic equipment.

Problems Solved:

  • Prevents lateral current leakage in organic light emitting display panels.
  • Enhances display panel performance and efficiency.
  • Improves color accuracy and overall image quality.

Benefits:

  • Increased display panel longevity.
  • Enhanced color accuracy and image quality.
  • Improved efficiency and performance of organic light emitting displays.

Commercial Applications:

  • Display manufacturers can integrate this technology into their products to enhance performance and image quality, appealing to consumers looking for high-quality displays.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the radial arrangement of subpixels prevent lateral current leakage? 2. What are the potential drawbacks of this design in organic light emitting display panels?

Original Abstract Submitted

an organic light emitting display panel includes a plurality of unit pixels, wherein each of the unit pixels includes a blue subpixel, a green subpixel, and a red subpixel radially disposed, the red subpixel is disposed at the innermost side, the blue subpixel is disposed at the outermost side, and the green subpixel is disposed between the blue subpixel and the red subpixel, thereby preventing lateral current leakage.
