ALERTING SYSTEM AND ALERTING METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240208412 titled 'ALERTING SYSTEM AND ALERTING METHOD

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an alerting system that notifies a driver of a risk of colliding with an object in front by executing a notification at a predetermined conspicuousness level.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Processor executes notification when risk indicator falls within predetermined range.
  • Notification parameters include output timing and conspicuousness level.
  • Records driver's reactive behavior to notifications.
  • Stores reaction information associated with different notification parameter sets.
  • Calculates optimal parameter set based on reaction ratio.

Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in automotive safety systems to alert drivers of potential collisions, reducing the risk of accidents.

Problems Solved: The technology addresses the issue of driver awareness and response to potential collision risks, enhancing overall road safety.

Benefits: - Improved driver awareness of potential collision risks - Enhanced road safety through timely notifications - Data-driven optimization of notification parameters for maximum effectiveness

Commercial Applications: Title: "Advanced Driver Alert System for Enhanced Safety" This technology can be utilized by automotive manufacturers to integrate advanced alerting systems in vehicles, catering to safety-conscious consumers and potentially reducing accidents.

Prior Art: Readers can explore prior patents related to driver alert systems, collision detection technologies, and driver assistance systems to gain a deeper understanding of the technological landscape.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers may find updated studies on driver behavior analysis, human-machine interaction in vehicles, and optimization of notification systems relevant to this technology.

Questions about Driver Alert Systems: 1. How does the reaction ratio impact the optimization of notification parameters? 2. What are the key factors influencing driver response to notifications in alerting systems?

Original Abstract Submitted

an alerting system includes a processor that, when a risk indicator indicating a risk of colliding with an object in front falls in a predetermined value range, executes a notification at a predetermined conspicuousness level to a driver via an hmi device, decides on a notification parameter set including parameters defining a notification output timing and the conspicuousness level, records presence or absence of a reactive behavior of the driver to the notification executed using the notification parameter set, records, in a storage device, reaction information in which a reaction ratio, which is a ratio of the number of the notifications to which the reactive behavior occurs to the number of the notifications executed, is associated with each of the different notification parameter sets, and calculates and decides on, an optimal parameter set with which the reaction ratio is estimated to become the highest.
