ENABLING REMAINING MINIMUM SYSTEM INFORMATION (RMSI) REPETITION OR RMSI SLOT AGGREGATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18595010 titled 'ENABLING REMAINING MINIMUM SYSTEM INFORMATION (RMSI) REPETITION OR RMSI SLOT AGGREGATION

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a method for wireless communication involving the reception of system information from a base station and monitoring for specific messages based on the configuration of resources.

  • The method involves receiving remaining minimum system information (RMSI) physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from a base station.
  • The downlink control information (DCI) in the RMSI PDCCH indicates the configuration of resources associated with RMSI repetition or slot aggregation.
  • The method includes monitoring for one or more RMSI messages based on the configuration of resources, such as multiple repetitions of an RMSI message or a single RMSI message divided across multiple slots.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Reception of RMSI physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from a base station.
  • Monitoring for RMSI messages based on the configuration of resources.
  • Differentiating between multiple repetitions of an RMSI message and a single RMSI message divided across multiple slots.

Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in various wireless communication systems to efficiently manage system information and resources.

Problems Solved:

  • Efficient monitoring and reception of system information in wireless communication.
  • Optimization of resources based on the configuration of RMSI messages.

Benefits:

  • Improved system information reception and monitoring.
  • Enhanced resource management in wireless communication systems.

Commercial Applications: Potential commercial applications include telecommunications, IoT devices, and other wireless communication systems where efficient resource management is crucial for performance.

Prior Art: Prior art related to this technology may include research papers, patents, or industry standards related to wireless communication and resource management.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers may be exploring advancements in wireless communication protocols, resource allocation strategies, and system information management in the context of 5G and beyond.

Questions about Wireless Communication: 1. How does this method improve the efficiency of resource management in wireless communication systems? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this technology in real-world wireless networks?

Original Abstract Submitted

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, a remaining minimum system information (RMSI) physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) that includes downlink control information (DCI). The DCI indicates a configuration of resources associated with RMSI repetition or RMSI slot aggregation. The method further includes monitoring for one or more RMSI messages based on the configuration of resources. The monitoring includes monitoring for multiple repetitions of an RMSI message based on the configuration of resources being associated with RMSI repetition and monitoring for a single RMSI message that is divided across multiple slots based on the configuration of resources being associated with RMSI slot aggregation. Other aspects are also claimed and described.
