HYBRID TRANSMITTER WITH CALIBRATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18081631 titled 'HYBRID TRANSMITTER WITH CALIBRATION

The abstract describes a transmitter with multiple pull-up circuits and a control circuit to adjust their drive strengths.

  • The transmitter has a pull-down circuit connected to one rail and two pull-up circuits connected to the output.
  • A control circuit adjusts the drive strength of each pull-up circuit by sending control signals to them.
  • The first control signal controls the drive strength of the first pull-up circuit, while the second control signal controls the drive strength of the second pull-up circuit.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in high-speed data transmission systems. - It can be applied in telecommunications equipment for signal amplification and conditioning.

Problems Solved: - Ensures efficient signal transmission by adjusting the drive strengths of pull-up circuits. - Helps in maintaining signal integrity and reducing noise in transmission lines.

Benefits: - Improved signal quality and reliability. - Enhanced performance in high-speed communication systems.

Original Abstract Submitted

A transmitter includes a pull-down circuit coupled between an output of the transmitter and a first rail, a first pull-up circuit coupled between a second rail and the output of the transmitter, and a second pull-up circuit coupled between the second rail and the output of the transmitter. The transmitter also includes a control circuit coupled to a control input of the first pull-up circuit and a control input of the second pull-up circuit. The control circuit is configured to output a first control signal to the control input of the first pull-up circuit, wherein the first control signal controls a drive strength of the first pull-up circuit. The control circuit is also configured to output a second control signal to the control input of the second pull-up circuit, wherein the second control signal controls a drive strength of the second pull-up circuit.
