DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240206083 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE

The abstract describes a display device with a display module, chassis assembly, printed circuit board, and connectors for transmitting electric signals to the display module.

  • The display device includes a display module with a second connector, a chassis assembly supporting the display module, and a printed circuit board driving the display module.
  • A first connector on the printed circuit board matches the second connector on the display module, transmitting and receiving electric signals.
  • The first connector may have a first power connector for power and a first switching signal connector for switching signals.
  • The length of the first switching signal connector is less than the length of the first power connector.
  • When the display module is coupled to the chassis assembly, the first power connector contacts the second connector before the first switching signal connector.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in various display devices such as monitors, TVs, and digital signage. - It can also be applied in automotive displays, medical equipment, and industrial control panels.

Problems Solved: - Simplifies the connection process between the display module and the chassis assembly. - Ensures proper transmission of power and switching signals to the display module.

Benefits: - Improved reliability and efficiency in display devices. - Streamlined assembly and maintenance processes. - Enhanced performance and functionality of the display module.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Display Device Technology for Various Industries This technology can be commercially utilized in consumer electronics, automotive displays, medical devices, and industrial control systems. It offers improved connectivity and functionality, making it a valuable innovation for manufacturers in these sectors.

Questions about Display Device Technology: 1. How does the length difference between the power connector and switching signal connector benefit the display device? The length difference ensures that the power connector makes contact before the switching signal connector, preventing any signal disruptions during the connection process.

2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this technology in different types of display devices? The main challenge could be adapting the design to fit the specific requirements and form factors of various display devices, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.

Original Abstract Submitted

a display device includes a display module on which a second connector is provided; a chassis assembly configured to support the display module; a printed circuit board provided in the chassis assembly and configured to drive or control the display module; and a first connector electrically connected to the printed circuit board and arranged to match the second connector, the first connector being configured to transmit and receive electric signals to the display module, wherein the first connector may include a first power connector for power and a first switching signal connector for switching signal that have areas facing the second connector, each of the first switching signal connector and the first power connector has a length of an area in a direction in which the display module is coupled to the chassis assembly, the length of the area of the first switching signal connector is less than the length of the area of the first power connector, and in a state in which the display module is coupled to the chassis assembly, the first power connector contacts the second connector before the first switching signal connector contacts the second connector.
