IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240202879 titled 'IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM

    • Simplified Explanation:**

The patent application describes a method for processing images by generating a full image of a repeated pattern, blurring the pattern, calculating center positions, cropping the image into smaller units, and merging them to create an averaged image.

    • Key Features and Innovation:**
  • Generation of full image with repeated unit patterns
  • Blurring of unit patterns for processing
  • Calculation of center positions for each pattern
  • Cropping of full image into smaller unit images
  • Merging of unit images based on reference positions to create an averaged image
    • Potential Applications:**

This technology could be used in image processing applications such as digital photography, medical imaging, and video processing.

    • Problems Solved:**

The method addresses the need for efficient image processing techniques that can handle repeated patterns and generate averaged images.

    • Benefits:**
  • Improved image processing accuracy
  • Enhanced ability to handle repeated patterns
  • Simplified image cropping and merging processes
    • Commercial Applications:**

Potential commercial applications include software development for image editing tools, medical imaging software, and video processing applications.

    • Questions about Image Processing:**

1. How does this method improve the accuracy of image processing? 2. What are the potential limitations of using this technique in real-world applications?

Original Abstract Submitted

an image processing method includes generating a full image of an area of interest in which unit patterns are repeatedly arranged, blurring each of the unit patterns, calculating respective center positions of each of the unit patterns based on the blurring, setting respective reference positions on each of the unit patterns based on the center positions, cropping the full image into a plurality of unit images, and merging the plurality of unit images based on the reference positions to generate an averaged image.
