ENHANCED BIT MAPPING AND ENCODING SCHEMES - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240187131 titled 'ENHANCED BIT MAPPING AND ENCODING SCHEMES
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication involving encoding information bits using parallel and concatenated encoding schemes, mapping coded bits to different layers of a constellation based on priorities, and modulating signals for transmission.
- Encoding device uses parallel encoding scheme to obtain a first set of coded bits.
- Encoding device uses some or all of the first set of coded bits to encode a second set of information bits using a concatenated encoding scheme.
- The second set of coded bits is mapped to different layers of a constellation based on priorities associated with the sets of coded bits.
- Signal associated with the second set of coded bits is transmitted by modulating the signal according to the mapping.

Original Abstract Submitted
methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. an encoding device may obtain a first set of coded bits by encoding multiple sets of information bits in accordance with a parallel encoding scheme. the encoding device may obtain a second set of coded bits by using some or all of the first set of coded bits to encode a second set of information bits in accordance with a concatenated encoding scheme. the encoding device may map at least the second set of coded bits to different layers of a constellation based on a first priority associated with the first set of coded bits and a second priority associated with the second set of coded bits. accordingly, the encoding device may transmit a signal associated with the second set of coded bits based on modulating the signal in accordance with the mapping.
