Abstract: in one aspect, the disclosure relates to a method comprising: flowing a gas mixture over a first catalyst; heating the first catalyst by microwave irradiation to a first target temperature, thereby producing a first gaseous product comprising methanol; flowing the first gaseous product over a molecular sieve catalyst; heating the molecular sieve catalyst to a second target temperature, thereby producing a second product comprising at least one hydrocarbon compound. the disclosure also relates to compositions produced using the disclosed methods. this abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.
