OVENS FOR NONLINEAR OPTICAL CRYSTALS AND METHOD OF USE

Abstract: a system for wavelength conversion. in certain example an oven for a nonlinear optical (nlo) crystal includes a thermally conductive enclosure configured to define an opening for holding the nlo crystal and to thermally conduct heat between a heating element and the nlo crystal, the thermally conductive enclosure in thermal contact with at least a portion of the nlo crystal and the heating element configured to heat to a temperature of at least 250� c. inclusive, a support structure configured to support the thermally conductive enclosure, the support structure thermally isolated from the thermally conductive enclosure, and an expandable attachment assembly configured such that the nlo crystal is secured within the opening of the thermally conductive enclosure by a spring force exerted by the expandable attachment assembly.
