WHEELCHAIR FIXING DEVICE AND WHEELCHAIR FIXING SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240130907 titled 'WHEELCHAIR FIXING DEVICE AND WHEELCHAIR FIXING SYSTEM
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a wheelchair fixing device that includes a support member, lock arms, switch arm mechanisms, and lock switches to secure and release the fixing bar of a wheelchair.
- Support member provided on a base member to support the drive mechanism
- Lock arms on both sides of the base member to pin down the fixing bar of the wheelchair
- Switch arm mechanisms turn due to pressure from the fixing bar, activating lock switches to drive the drive mechanism
- Slide shaft moves in the backward direction to secure the fixing bar
Potential Applications
The technology can be used in wheelchair maintenance and repair services, medical facilities, and rehabilitation centers.
Problems Solved
The device helps in securely fixing the wheelchair, preventing any unwanted movement or accidents due to loose parts.
Benefits
The wheelchair fixing device ensures the safety and stability of the wheelchair, providing peace of mind to users and caregivers.
Potential Commercial Applications
"Wheelchair Fixing Device for Enhanced Safety and Stability" can be used in medical equipment stores, rehabilitation centers, and wheelchair manufacturing companies.
Possible Prior Art
There may be similar patents or devices related to wheelchair fixing mechanisms, but specific prior art is not provided in the abstract.
Unanswered Questions
How does the device handle different wheelchair models with varying fixing bar designs?
The abstract does not mention the adaptability of the device to different wheelchair models and fixing bar configurations. It would be essential to know if the device can accommodate various designs effectively.
Are there any safety features incorporated into the device to prevent accidental release of the fixing bar?
The abstract does not specify if there are any safety mechanisms in place to avoid unintentional release of the fixing bar, which could be crucial for user safety.
Original Abstract Submitted
a wheelchair fixing device includes a support member that is provided on a base member and supports the drive mechanism, a slide shaft, a pair of lock arms that is provided on both sides of the base member, the lock arms being configured to turn toward a downward side and to pin down a fixing bar of the wheelchair due to the slide shaft moving in the backward direction, and being configured to turn toward the upward side and to release pinning down of the fixing bar due to the slide shaft moving in the advancing direction, a pair of switch arm mechanisms configured to turn due to being pressed by the fixing bar of the wheelchair, and lock switches configured to drive the drive mechanism by being pressed by the switch arm mechanisms, such that the slide shaft is moved in the backward direction.
