Organization Name
Inventor(s)
Failure protection Method and Apparatus, Storage Medium, and Electronic Device - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18276230 titled 'Failure protection Method and Apparatus, Storage Medium, and Electronic Device
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a method and apparatus for failure protection in an electronic device, involving configuring a protection relationship on a standby node, receiving SID information from a primary node, matching the SID information with the standby node's programming function type and protection relationship, and generating a protection entry when successful matches are found.
- Configuring protection relationship on standby node
- Receiving SID information from primary node
- Matching SID network programming function type
- Matching SID value with protection relationship
- Generating protection entry
Potential Applications
The technology described in this patent application could be applied in various electronic devices where failure protection is crucial, such as network switches, routers, servers, and other critical infrastructure components.
Problems Solved
This technology addresses the problem of ensuring seamless protection and failover mechanisms in electronic devices to prevent downtime and data loss in case of failures or disruptions.
Benefits
The benefits of this technology include enhanced reliability, improved fault tolerance, and increased system availability by efficiently managing failure protection mechanisms in electronic devices.
Potential Commercial Applications
The potential commercial applications of this technology could be in the networking industry, data centers, telecommunications, and any other sector where high availability and reliability are essential for operations.
Possible Prior Art
One possible prior art for this technology could be traditional failover mechanisms in networking devices, which may not be as efficient or dynamic as the method described in this patent application.
What are the specific types of electronic devices that could benefit from this technology?
Electronic devices such as network switches, routers, servers, and storage systems could benefit from this technology by ensuring continuous operation and data protection in case of failures.
How does this technology compare to existing failure protection methods in terms of efficiency and reliability?
This technology offers a more dynamic and efficient way of managing failure protection mechanisms compared to traditional methods, leading to improved reliability and system availability.
Original Abstract Submitted
Provided are a failure protection method and apparatus, a storage medium, and an electronic device. The method includes: configuring a protection relationship on a standby node, wherein the protection relationship is configured to indicate an object to be protected by the standby node; receiving SID information advertised by a primary node, wherein the SID information at least includes: an SID network programming function type and an SID value; matching the SID network programming function type with an SID network programming function type of the standby node, matching the SID value with the protection relationship, and in a case where the SID network programming function type is successfully matched with an SID network programming function type of the standby node and the SID value is successfully matched with the protection relationship, generating a protection entry.
