An apparatus comprising at least one processor; and at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform: receiving a configuration from a network including associating an amount N of downlink reference signals to the network, wherein a downlink reference signal reported to the network is indicative to the network that the apparatus is capable to transmit the sounding reference signal associated with the reported downlink reference signal; determining up to N downlink reference signals to be reported based on at least one criterion; reporting up to N downlink reference signals to the network; receiving a command to trigger the sounding reference signal transmission; and transmitting the up to N sounding reference signals respectively associated with the reported up to N downlink reference signals to the network.
