a communication method and apparatus, where a first device sends first configuration information to a second device and sends second configuration information to a third device, or receives second configuration information from a third device, where the first configuration information indicates a first coding coefficient set, and the second configuration information indicates the first coding coefficient set and a second coding coefficient set. the first device obtains a first data packet, and sends first information to the second device to indicate first coded data, where the first information further includes first indication information to indicate a first coding coefficient, the first coded data is generated based on the first coding coefficient and the first data packet, and the first coding coefficient belongs to the second coding coefficient set.
