ENCODER SELECTION - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17898248 titled 'ENCODER SELECTION
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a method for selecting an encoder for network coding, where encoder information messages are received from a set of network coding devices and a selection indication is transmitted to at least one selected network coding device to indicate it as the encoder for encoding at least one transport block (TB).
- Method for selecting an encoder for network coding
- Receiving encoder information messages from network coding devices
- Transmitting a selection indication to selected network coding device
- Indicating the selected device as the encoder for encoding transport blocks
Potential Applications
- Wireless communication networks
- Data transmission systems
- Multimedia streaming services
Problems Solved
- Efficient selection of encoder for network coding
- Improved data encoding process
- Enhanced network performance
Benefits
- Optimal utilization of network coding devices
- Increased efficiency in data transmission

Original Abstract Submitted
Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for selecting an encoder for network coding are provided. An example method may include receiving one or more encoder information messages from a set of network coding devices, the one or more encoder information messages being associated with the set of network coding devices. The example method may further include transmitting a selection indication to at least one selected network coding device of the set of network coding devices, the selection indication indicating a selection of the at least one selected network coding device as an encoder for encoding at least one transport block (TB).
